Succesful Application: DVP20PM + DOPB-PS and G-Code download feature

Today, were going to talk about motion control.
There´s a PLC not released in many countries, but capable to manage up to 3 axis using step and direction control, is called DVP20PM or PM series.

This PLC needs special software called PMSoft, available on the web for free, as always.
This software a part from be able to program DVP20PM, it have the capability to work with G-Code files

PM-Soft Software

The G-Code files are a codified files that transform a Autocad file into a motion control trajectories, making the programming of motion control systems really easy.
Thanks to that codification, you can cut a difficult wood profile for example, designed previously using Autocad, and avoiding the hard PLC programming work to the engineer.

The problem that customer use to have with DVP20PM is when customer want to change the cutting profile of their product, because in that occasions, the Computer is needed, and not always our customer have a computer on the machine, isn’t it!

Here, is where appears our new DOP-PS models, already available in EMEA region.
With this HMI´s your customer have the capability to change the G-Code profile only with one USB disk, following the next process:
1. Create Autocad File
2. Transform to G-Code and copy to USB disk
3. Connect the USB Disk to the DOPB-PS and download it to the 20PM
4. Run the program!

According to that, our HMI team prepares for us the complete following example where we´re going to cut an Scorpion picture profile into our 20PM.

As you should understand this really simple kind of CNC tool could be applied to many kind of applications, from Wood cutting, plasma, or gluing, to stone grinding or even metal cutting!

Successful Applications: Barcode Reader with USB Interface

Many of you ask me for Barcode application.

Probably in all the factories of the world, is necessary to codify the items produced in some central computer.
And the most typical way is using barcodes, I am pretty sure that all of you already seen some.

In the past, the Barcodes readers sent the information to the computer/HMI using RS232 serial port, but obviously the interface has changed lately to USB or wireless readers.
According to that, we would like to share our experience with the following factory configuration

New DOPSoft version!

And this version is ready for all the new HMI ready to be released this Xmas dates on Europe:

DOPB03E211 (new Ethernet small HMI)
DOPB07S401K (7 inch Button HMI)
DOPB07PS515 (7 inch Professional model)

This version comes with new eRemote and eServer versions completing the HMI suite.
Where in my opinion the most important improving is the HMI web browser function.

Delta FTP reorganization

Due recently we have been presenting many new models.
And because or FTP has been not organized since 5 years ago.
We decide to update the FTP to make it more user friendly and adding all the new products, with one-link for software packs and many new product images.

HMI – HMI – PLC – PLC Communication Example (Multidrop)

Another useful Ethernet application with our new HMI´s is the multi-drop connection.

As you can see in the picture configuration, Multi-drop means have 2 mirror HMI´s where can be used and all the actions in one HMI, will be mirrored on the other one.
To do this, we need as always one master and one slave, or with the proper words, one Host and one Client.

Where our customers use Multidrop? The typical applicaion use to be a huge machine with several control points, printing machine, Parking, etc…

HMI – PLC Communication Example (Ethernet)

It´s been a long time since we post the last communication example.
And this time, taking advantage for the new coming soon release of DVS (Unmanagged Ethernet Switches) and new DVP-SE (PLC with Ethernet Embeded), we decide to show everybody how to communicate one PLC and one HMI trought Ethernet.

To make it easy for everybody, even the ones without English skills.
We thought the best will be to show everybody using video tool.

Motion Control: Pick & Place (2 axis interpolation)

One of the most typical applications once you have some interpolation device in your hands is Pick & Place.
The objectie of the application is move some object from one point to another one, and you can´t find one single company that didn´t need in some way one variable of this application.

Of course application have multiple variables, and the most easy one is with linear movements.
Simple movements Pick & Place

But later engineers think how to save time with that process to make their machines faster.
And the easy way is to interpolate both axis following a semicircle as below.

Because of the popularity of Pick & Place, in Delta we have several devices able to work like that. Further more our ASDA-A2 servodrive is able to do it by his own, with no extra PLC or motion controller.

But today I would like to share how to do that application with one of our standard CPU´s and ASDA-B servodrive controlled trough Step & Direction.
So in this case you can use the same program to control Servo systems, Steppers or even inverters.
The CPU´s able to interpolate two axis nowadays in Delta are: DVP-SA2, DVP-SX2 and DVP-SV.

And Regarding the Software, the keypoint is the DCIMA instruction.

Announcement: DOPSoft 1.00.07 release

Once again, new update of DOPSoft 1.00.07.

DOPSoft will be in near future the only one Delta HMI software so I recommend to everybody to take a look on this new version.
New image and many problems corrected to have finally a very stable product.
