Direct Link function is a feature who allows to the programmer to upload/download the PLC program connecting the PC directly to the HMI.
So the HMI bypass the PC directly to the PLC.
This function is so useful when the PLC is so hidden inside the cabinet, you forget your RS232 programming wire (DVPACAB2A30) or you just want to avoid those annoying and sometimes unreliable USB-RS232 converters.
The major problem in the past was the impossibility to debug the PLC and HMI at the same time while the bypass is running.
According to that our HMI department send us some video showing this new updating for the Direct Link function.
This Feature is available too with ISPSoft

Timeout Error
I use a DOP107CV HMI and a DVP28SV PLC. I want to upload my PLC program form USB link of HMI and Com1 of HMI to PLC radial connector by rs232 cable or via Com2 of HMI to green phoenix terminal of PLC with RS485 connection.
I’m using DOPSoft 4 for HMI and WPLSoft 2.5 for PLC.
I get Timeout error when I want to transfer my PLC program from Communication>Transfer Setup>PC=> PLC option.
I think it needs some cautions in programming of PLC. How PLC can find initial serial communication setting for handshaking with HMI? Are they set in a standard setting in first handshake?
Please send all of tips and important comments which are needed to do it correctly but support of site is too slow and poor.
Thanks

and after that I get another error that says:
Failed to enable USB pot
before I used it without problem and loaded screens to test my PLC settings but suddenly from one moment to another began to come out that and I do not let anything load anymore, uninstall and reinstall the software but nothing, please help me what could it be?

Hi all, I want to ask the question about a problem of communication between a PLC DVP 12SE and network analyzer CIRCUTOR, this equipment has output RS 485 and MODBUS RTU protocol.
The communication parameters of the analyzer are:
Address 1/9600 / N / 8/1
I connected the output COM 2 (RS485) directly to the analyzer (the cable length is 3 meters away, and did not connect a terminal resistance).
(+) A (+) / (-) B (-) / SG GND
The communication parameters of the PLC are as follows.
D1120 = H81 / 9600 / N / 8/1
D1121 = 10 (PLC address)
D1129 = 1000 (time out)
M1143 = SET (RTU mode)
During testing flags are turned:
M1140 = 1 error data reception
M1129 = 1 error time out
I have been tested by changing the values of D1121 and D1120 and also the network analyzer, but I have not had a result.
I hope you can help me with this problem.
Greetings to all

the connection applied well,but there are new alarm (error code c) which only for siemens communication protocol and mean that: PLC the program is very heavy.
after many test i found the problem in the program of hmi
the alarm disappeared when i made the hmi for just display not control

Hello Sir/madam,
Í connect the HMI with a USB kabel to a Laptop and from the HMI to the PLC. First I had a USB-RS232 convertor. Now I want to connect ISPSoft to the PLC(SA2). I tried several times but no succes. I change in tools >communication settings > Directlink(USB) and then i thougt the plc is station/adress 1. But i can’t connect and gives the message: communication timeout error..
Hopefully some one can help..

Hi All,
I have a complicated curve plotting on DOP-B HMI involving some trigonometric functions and facing some issues with SIN,COS etc. When the angles are whole numbers they work fine, but returns wrongs results for fractions. So I am forced to use an external micro controller to do all the heavy computing and returning only the results through COM port. Now the issue is converting the X,Y points, which is in ASCII, to integers.
The TOASC,TOHEX all seems to do the job, but these names are misleading if you are familiar with Java,C etc. TOASC merely assigns string to a variable. For example in the following statement
TOASC($1,”63″)
“63” is assigned to $1 and I want to convert $1 to Integer. Is there an easy way to do this ?

The release of the latest WPL Soft has really helped with Direct Link, i have the Dop 615 e hmi set on DHCP connected to DVP SX cpu via Serial on com1, this is in turn connected onto a Factories network, i have successful programmed the plc and monitored the plc through direct link(ethernet) from any network point. The direct link usb works just as well.

Hi!
Problem is not solved. It’s very important to solve this problem. Anybody can help?
August 5, 2011 at 10:38 am
Hello ArlekiN,
I’m sorry but I’m not available to solve your issue right now.
Did you try to contact with your local distributor?
Why is so important to solve a DirectLink issue? I don’t think the machine stops production for this reason.
Just download the program on normal way until we can find out what’s happening
August 5, 2011 at 12:25 pm
System allready works, and there is some errors in tech process. They must be fixed quickly. Online Mode very helpful in this case.
Engeneer of local distributor doesn’t programm DOP-B panels.
Thanks for help. I thought, that I doing somesing wrong.

July 11, 2011 at 2:33 pm
Hello Kannan,
For the moment this is only a blog, so we don’t have any place to put and solve your doubts (but we’re working on it!)
As far as I can understand you are using the instruction RET (return from interruption) without calling any interruption. So the problem could be there…
In any case and until we don’t have any forum to solve that doubts, please tell me where are you from, and I’ll give the the proper contact person to solve your problem
July 10, 2011 at 6:17 am
Line 2 should read like this
”——————————–|SET M0|
July 10, 2011 at 6:14 am
I’ve a question about DVP28SV plc, but don’t know where to post it, forgive me if it is not the right place.
The issue is, if MC & MCR (Master Controls) surrounds a set of normal rungs in WPLSoft, it compiles, whereas if there are step ladders then the program fails to compile.
1|—-|x0|——————————|MC N0|
2|——————————–|SET M0|
3|————————————–|RET|
4|————————————–|MCR N0|
5|————————————–|END|
The above program doesn’t compile until line 2 & 3 is removed.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Appreciate your quick response. I did remove all drivers and let Vista reinstall it back, but the problem remained. However after much fiddling i found a solution.
Changing the USBCommMode to ‘0’ from ‘1’ under System Settings in the DOP-B Hmi solved the problem. Now i can communicate to the PLC and HMI at the same time,
Wow,.. What a relief ?
Thanks
June 28, 2011 at 8:19 am
This message “USB can NOT connect 2=IIIUSB_OpenDevice() – WDU_Init Error”. means wrong windows drivers.
Unplug the HMI and reinstall the software, and let windows install the proper drivers once you connect HMI again.
March 13, 2016 at 2:49 pm
Dear I was using Windows7 – 64 bits and I could not find the proper USB driver to a DOP-AS35THTD , so I install ScreenEditor 1.05 into a notebook with WindowsXP+SP3 and it worked fine, once the USB driver present on ScreenEditor was for 32 bits systems. Hope this help you !!!
June 28, 2011 at 7:36 am
I’ve the same problem as ArlekiN has.
The solution described doesn’t seem to work (: I’ve removed the drivers, WPLSoft and reinstalled them both while leaving the HMI unconnected. But still the problem persists.
Any ideas ? It would really be helpful having a single cable while programming hmi and plc.
Thanks

This is the typical Windows driver Error.
Reinstall the software WITHOUT connecting the HMI during the process.

Hi, I have a DOPAE80 can connect by Ethernet port, how must do because don’t works, it’s works using usb port but i need do it by Ethernet
April 29, 2011 at 5:39 pm
1. Configure the IP features as DHCP.
2. Connect the HMI to the router (the same LAN than the PC).
3. Go to the Screen Editor – Options – Configuration – Upload/Download = Ethernet
4. Try to download, and when IP wizard appears select find automatically.
5. Click on your HMI and that’s all!

Yes Diego, You can do it with DOP-AE too.
But is not automatic, you must go to the system menu and activate bypass mode
