What is the difference between value 1 or 2 in Absolute encoder parameter P2.069.Z ?

1–2 minutes

In Absolute encoder system, parameter value P2.069.Z is used to prevent rotary axis position from being lost when an overflow happens for pulse feedback or number of rotations.

To prevent the overflow, P2.069.Z value can be 1 or 2.

The difference between choosing 1 or 2 is when set to 2, the feedback position will be filled with the index position (Monitor 91) at the moment of the power cycle. But it will not if you set it to 1. The reason we have these two possibilities is the difference in applications. Sometimes, users only care about index position (Monitor 91) (set to 1 in this case), and sometimes, the controller needs to read feedback position for (0~360 degree) calculation (set to 2 in this case).
