The drives come with heatsink fans and capacitor bank fans, however not all models. External represents heatsink fan and its flow rate (if there is no fan, just heatsink power loss). Internal represents capacitor bank fan and its flow rate (if there is no fan, just internal power dissipation other than heatsink).
