Delta Electronics provides the IPC Intelligent Pump Control for multi-pump, multi-master
systems. The advantage over other multi-pump control methods is redundancy of the
master.
In traditional multi-pump systems, there is only one master. Any failure in the master will
lead to complete failure of the entire pump system.
If the master fails in the IPC system, one of the slaves will assume the master role. The
system keeps operating with one pump less than before. That is a big advantage in
mission-critical systems, like cooling water supply for machines or installations, which
are not quick and easy to shut down.
The IPC functionality comes as PLC program in the CFP2000, CP2000, MP300 and
MPD300 drives. After activating the PLC, the IPC function becomes available, and the
user can parametrise it just as easily. This document describes the procedures and ways
of functioning.
